Father Daughter Moments

I am so Thankful that Luke has the chance to raise a daughter. I have to share this story because to me it was too funny.

Luke had the kids at home while I was doing some tutoring one night last week. I just walked in the door and Luke was finishing changing Lily's diaper. He looks at me and says, "She NEEDS a bath." I was like okay, why? "She just had a huge poop and there is poop where poop doesn't belong."

I almost died laughing!!! As Lily is laying there with a Huge smile on her face loving every minute of this:)

2 Peas in a pod

My favorite words of the day happen every morning when I get Isaac out of bed. He runs down the hall, slides down the stairs and runs around the corner shouting "Gigi"(translated to Lily). Then runs over to her shouting "Hi Gigi Hi Gigi..." and gives her a big hug!! I wish I could bottle these moments up because there is nothing better!!!

Lily is now 6 months. We had her Dr. appt this morning and she weighed in at 18lbs even. Here are a few recent pictures:)

Wanting to do what Dad is doing, always!!!
Eating her sweet potatoes!!! I LOVE her bright blue eyes!!!
2 point take down Lily...Isaac thinks it is so funny to let Lily get him:)
Isaac has always been my helper, he loves to shove things in Lily's mouth:)

Inspired

I am inspired by other moms and people very easily. I look at what they have or are accomplishing and it makes me want to do more. I enjoy reading other people's blogs and their passions about life. Somedays I read people's facebook status' and think about all they have done in one day when it feels like I have done nothing but been lazy. Then I think about what I actually did. Fed children, changed diapers, sang songs, played games, read books, worked on letters, numbers, reading, fine motor skills, wiped tears, danced, put 2 small children down for naps and attempted to take care of other household things that needed to be done. Since I do these things daily, I don't think of them as anything special. 2 years ago doing "nothing" would have consisted of sitting on the couch watching tv for most of the day. It is funny how fast we are generalized into a new normal once we become parents. I wouldn't change a minute of it for the world!

Back to the inspired part. I get all of these ideas of things I want to do with my life or what I should do. Where is God leading me? What is he wanted me to do? I have been trying to pray more about things and put my trust in him. One of my latest ideas is to sell this cleaning product system. I know what you are thinking, REALLY?? Sell something?? I have been thinking about this for the last couple of years and haven't gotten into yet because I didn't think I wanted to invest my time in it. Now that I only work "part-time" I guess you would say, I am thinking of giving it a try. My mom introduced me to this cleaning product system a couple years or so ago. I have a few of their items and LOVE them. It is an environmentally friendly system that kills 99.9% of bacteria and germs out there without using harmful chemicals that can hurt our children and environment. I like that I can wipe my children's hands and know they are clean and safe to be chewed on again. I haven't signed up quite yet, but I am going to and see where it leads me. This product is really popular in MN and my Mom swears by it. She even bought it to use at her nursing home. Check it out!!

Where does the time go????

So it has been a few months...I guess you could say Life gets in the way of blogging or I have been very busy with taking care of my little beauties, holidays, tutoring, watching Abby's boys, and keeping our house in order. I feel like I could write a book about all we have been up to!! Even though time keeps ticking away, I am really trying to savor the sweet moments of where Isaac and Lily are in their lives. Last week we got snowed in, in Des Moines and stayed at Dane and Brooke's house. As I put both of my kids to sleep laying in a bed with Isaac next to me and Lily in my arms, my thoughts wandered. How precious this time is and how fast it will soon be over and they will be teenagers. I could have stayed up all night watching them!! These are the moments I LOVE as a Mom...there is nothing better!!!

Updates:
Isaac is our little smarty pants!!! He is learning so much each day and keeps surprising us with how much a 1 year old can do. At this rate, he may be reading and doing math before he turns 3. I LOVE teaching him!! He is also talking so much now and "helping" with his sister!! His favorite activity to do right now is empty the dishwasher!!! Such a sweet boy we have!!

Lily needs to slow down on her movement!!! Last Friday she pushed herself up on all fours and on Sunday was crawling backwards. At 5 months old, it is entirely too early for a baby to be moving. I may put some weights on her to stop this for a while! Her favorite activity is jumping in her jumper and laying on the bed while Isaac moves around her. She is always belly laughing at him!! She adores him and vis versa!!

Luke is getting closer with the basement!! The end is near and we will have our entire house back!!
